The rules for using NovaClip. Same as the privacy page: written to be read by the people it applies to, most of whom are teenagers.

Using NovaClip means you accept what is on this page. If you do not accept it, that is a fair choice — do not use the site.
NovaClip is an independent project run by the person behind novaclip.org. It is not a company with a legal department, and these terms are not going to pretend otherwise.
You must be 13 or over. The site asks your age once and will not let you in below that. Thirteen is where COPPA draws the line: below it, a service like this one needs verifiable consent from a parent, which NovaClip has no way to obtain and does not pretend to have.
In parts of the EU the floor is higher than thirteen. Each country sets its own age for agreeing to a service like this one, anywhere from 13 to 16 — Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands are 16, France is 15, Spain 14. If you are under your own country's age, a parent or guardian needs to agree on your behalf, and the parent dashboard is where they do that.
If you are under 18, you may use everything here, but you should have a parent's or guardian's permission before you buy anything. Most countries treat a contract signed by a minor as something a parent can undo, and we would rather you asked first than have that argument later.
Parents: the parent dashboard is where the screen-time limits, the content blocking and the activity overview live.
Saving progress across devices gives you a code. Whoever has the code has the account, so treat it like a key.
You can add a username and password on the profile page. It is a second way into the same account, not a stronger one — both open the same thing. Your password is put through 600,000 rounds of PBKDF2 in your browser and never sent to us, and since we hold no email, nobody can reset it for you: the recovery code is the way back.
Two things follow from that, and both are worth saying plainly:
There is no device lock any more. Face sign-in, voice sign-in, the click-rhythm lock and finally the passkey lock have all been removed from NovaClip. Your account and your recovery code are the way in, and they are the only way in. See the privacy policy for what that means for anything already stored on your device — the short version is that it is deleted for you the next time you open the site.
Videos, photos, edits, writing, thumbnails, anything you produce here — it is yours. NovaClip takes no ownership of it and no licence to use it, and it is not used to train anything.
It also mostly never reaches us. The editor, the photo tools and the studio run in your browser, and what they make is written to your browser's own storage. That has a cost worth understanding: if you clear your site data, or use a different device, or your browser evicts the storage, the work is gone, and there is no backup on our side to restore it from. Export anything you care about.
Short list, and none of it should be a surprise:
If you see something here that breaks these rules, the report form reaches a person.
NovaClip's AI features send the text you type to a Cloudflare Worker, which passes it to Google's Gemini API. What comes back is generated text that can be confidently wrong.
The editor's clip check is the same. The flashing and blank-footage checks are arithmetic and are reliable; the nudity check is either a rough colour count or, if you switch it on, Gemini looking at four frames. Both get it wrong in both directions, neither blocks anything, and whether a video is alright to post is your decision and stays your decision.
None of it is medical, legal, financial or safety advice, and the safety tools — the message scanner, the harassment checker — are a second opinion, not a verdict. If something has actually happened to you, tell an adult you trust, or the police. A website cannot do that part.
The core of NovaClip is free and stays free. The paid plans are:
| Plan | What it is | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|
| Family Dashboard | Parental controls, activity overview, content blocking, comment scanning | Monthly or yearly subscription |
| Kids' Tools Upgrade | Priority AI, longer exports, extra effects, game skins | Monthly or yearly subscription |
| Family Bundle | Both of the above, plus priority support | Monthly or yearly subscription |
| Certificates | Basic, Advanced and Master creator credentials | One-time payment |
Prices are shown on the pricing page in your own currency, and the price you see at checkout is the price charged. Yearly is ten months' worth for twelve, which is where "2 months free" comes from.
Paying for a certificate enrols you. The credential itself only issues once you have actually done the work — the exports, the trend scans, the tutor sessions and the coins the pricing page lists. That is deliberate: a certificate you could simply buy would not be worth putting on anything. If you pay and never finish the work, you have paid for enrolment and the credential does not issue.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not delete anything you made.
If you are in the UK or the EU you have 14 days to change your mind about a digital purchase. That right can end early if you have already started using the thing you bought and agreed to that at the time — which is how the law works for digital content everywhere, not a rule we invented.
Beyond that: if something did not work, or you were charged for something you did not mean to buy, email novacliptools@gmail.com and say what happened. Parents of under-18s who find a charge they did not agree to should do the same, and we will refund it.
Payments are handled by Stripe. NovaClip never sees or stores your full card number — the site keeps only the last four digits, the expiry and the name, so a saved card is recognisable to you.
The awkward part, stated rather than hidden: where a Stripe payment link has not been configured for a plan, that checkout is a demonstration and no money is taken. The checkout says so on screen when it is in that mode. A simulated purchase is not a purchase, and it does not entitle you to anything.
NovaClip connects to YouTube, Google, Stripe, map providers and a handful of others, listed in the privacy policy. Those services have their own terms, and when you use a NovaClip feature that depends on one, you are agreeing to theirs as well as ours.
We cannot make promises on their behalf, and if one of them changes or goes away, the feature that uses it will change or go away too.
NovaClip is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Google, YouTube, Microsoft, Stripe or any other service it talks to.
The libraries in the editor are free to use, and that is checked rather than assumed. The Photos and Footage libraries only ever show you pictures and clips whose licence has been read and found to allow reuse and editing — anything under a fair-use rationale, a no-derivatives licence or a non-commercial licence is left out, because editing makes a derivative and a monetised channel is commercial. Most of those licences ask for one thing in return: credit the person who made it. Press Credits in either library and it gives you the line to paste under your video. It takes a second and it is the whole deal.
Clips from films, TV and other people's videos are a different thing, and NovaClip does not provide them. There is no length that is automatically safe — no thirty-second rule, no ten-percent rule. If you bring in footage of your own that belongs to somebody else, whether you are allowed to depends on what you are doing with it and where you live, and it is your call and your risk, not ours.
If something here infringes your copyright, tell us and we will act. Email novacliptools@gmail.com with the word copyright in the subject, and include: what the work is, where on NovaClip you saw it, enough for us to find it, your contact details, and a statement that you own the right or act for whoever does. We aim to answer within five working days. If the complaint is good we remove or disable the material; if we think it is not, we will say so and why rather than ignoring it.
If we remove something of yours, you can tell us we got it wrong. Reply to the same address and we will look again. Nothing on this site is removed by an automatic system without a person involved.
Doing it repeatedly ends the account. Somebody who keeps posting work they have no right to loses access — and we would rather write that down here than surprise anybody with it later.
NovaClip is provided as it is. There is no guarantee that it will be available, that a feature will keep working, that an export will succeed on your particular device, or that the AI will be right.
It is one person's project, not an enterprise service with a support contract behind it. We will fix what we can, and we would rather say that here than imply an uptime nobody promised.
If NovaClip loses your work, gets something wrong, or is unavailable when you needed it, our responsibility is limited to what you actually paid us — which for most people is nothing. We are not liable for indirect losses: missed deadlines, lost views, lost income.
Nothing here removes rights you have by law. In the UK and the EU your statutory consumer rights stand whatever this page says, and we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Those exclusions would not be enforceable and we are not going to print them.
You can stop using NovaClip whenever you like. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything held on your device; to delete a saved account, email us the code and ask.
We can suspend access for anybody using the site to break section 5 — to harass somebody, to attack the service, or to get around the age gate. For anything less than that, we would ask first.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there can hear a dispute about them. If you live in another country in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of your own country's consumer law and can bring a claim where you live — a choice-of-law line in a website footer does not override that.
If a court decides one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands. And if we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.
If NovaClip changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version; if a change matters — pricing, what happens to your work, what we collect — it will be said on the site rather than quietly slipped in here.
Questions, refunds, deletion requests, or anything that felt wrong: novacliptools@gmail.com, or use the report form.
